Dear Someone,
I am a wild woman at heart and a gentle soul.
I live in Cornwall, leaving my home in Mid Wales where our family flourished with rivers and moors and kindly neighbours, 5 years ago. Work took me into hospitals and people’s homes. My children gave me the joy of parenting, music, youth theatre.
Now I am a Granny. I can play again! With little ones here in Cornwall and way up in Scotland. Having the time to BE. Watch them change and grow.
I work a little, create in words or wool, sell a book, dance, listen to friends, grow an edible garden. I love all sorts of art and music. I walk in woodlands, sit by an estuary, read a book or two. I love a film. I’m good at doing nothing.
I am a Quaker and I love it. The stillness and silence that leads to what I must do to find peace and ways of living that are simpler and fairer. Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings help me. Slowing down. The two seem to meet well.
I’ve lived in far away places. California in my 20’s seems a far off land now.
Recently I’ve begun to look at the impact of life as a boarding school child. I wrote it out, opening up conversations with myself and others. I am healing and very excited to put the past to bed.
It’s a good time in my life and I’d like to share it with Someone.
